Cocoa Brownies

A delicious brownie recipe that requires cocoa powder instead of chocolate. Always a tasty recipe to make and never disappoints!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup spelt flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Chocolate chunks or chips (optional)
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350F.
  2. In a bowl, mix the butter and sugar together. Add egg and vanilla and mix well.
  3. Add flour, cocoa powder, baking soda and salt. Stir until just incorporated, without over-mixing.
  4. Fold in the chocolate chunks if you are adding some.
  5. Pour the batter into your pan and bake for 25-30 minutes until a toothpick comes out damp but not gooney, wet or dry.
