Gelatin Gummies
Ingredients
- 2 cups of juice (can be any flavor)
- 2 tbsp beef gelatin
- A tablespoon of honey or maple syrup (optional)
Directions
- In a cup, take 1/2 cup of juice and add in the gelatin. Let it bloom 5 to 10 minutes.
- In the meantime, heat up the remaining 1 1/2 cup of juice in a small saucepan. Do not boil it but make it warm enough that some steam is seen.
- Turn of the heat and add-in the gelatin mixture. Mix well with a whisk until everything is incorporated and smooth, without lumps. At this point, you are free to add a tablespoon of the liquid sweetener of your choice, but it's not needed, only if you'd like extra sweeteness.
- Grease a glass container or pour the batter in a silicone mold of your choice. Please in the fridge for a minimum of 2 hours to ready until firm. If you poured the gummies in a glass container or container without individual, you can now cut them into squares. If you poured it in a silicone mold, simply pop them out and they are ready to enjoy.
*Note: With this recipe, before pouring the batter in the mold, I like to add any liquid vitamin/mineral that I have. For example, I love adding liquid iodine, vitamin C, etc! Some vitamins, especially in capsules, might add a certain taste, so that's something to keep in mind.
Ratio for other recipes with gelatin and juice (for 2 cups of juice)
- 1 to 1.5 tbsp of gelatin (ideal for jelly that you eat with a spoon from a cup)
- 2 to 2.5 tbsp of gelatin (ideal for more solid gummy bear style candies)
